Project goals
This subsystem is responsible for creating the electronic components and battery for the prosthesis. The boards are specially designed for the prosthesis, taking into account the space constraints imposed by the mechanics and the safety constraints imposed by the QMS.
The electronics must interface with various sensors such as pressure sensors in the fingers, current sensors and encoders for the motors, accelerometers, etc. This subsystem is also responsible for designing basic firmware tests.
🧠 Electrical Engineer: Control Board
Responsibilities:
- The PCB in charge of controlling the arm prosthesis.
- Assemble, test, and debug the v2 of our control board (i.e. 8 motor drivers, 8 current sensors, 5 pressure sensors, an IMU interface, UART communication).
- Suggest, implement improvements and develop the v3 of the board.
- Develop scripts to test the different modules on the board.
- Collaborate with the Software team to develop the firmware.
- Collaborate with the Mechanics team to respect size constraints.
Nice To Have:
- Experience working with datasheets
- Experience with schematic and PCB design (i.e. KiCad)
